How very fortunate we were to find and choose Chestnut Lodge Pet Crematorium whilst seeking a same-day solution after we had to have our terminally-ill cat, Cato, urgently sent to sleep at home. We delivered our beautiful boy's euthanized body here, at this peaceful, wooded site. Nothing flashy or intimidating here. Just a simple reception hut in which to check in and discuss our requirements with the lovely Kim. We were given as long as we needed with Cato in a private viewing room. We were totally at ease with leaving him in Chestnut Lodge's care while they prepared our chosen commemorative items (of which there is a wide range) and Cato for cremation. We opted to attend the start of the individual cremation 2 days later, which again gave us as long as we wanted to bid our buddy a final farewell. Kim and Zoe went out of their way to hunt down (and find!) his mislaid toy so that it could be placed in his paws 'for the journey'. They allowed plenty of time to commiserate and watch an amusing video of him. We got a real sense of genuine compassion and understanding. When we returned a few hours later to collect Cato's ashes, they and the other keepsakes were so beautifully presented; it showed a lot of thought, care and effort has been put into their service. Chestnut Lodge (CL) provided a sympathetic & caring service for our very much loved Daisy, our 11 year old Golden Retriever.We much appreciated the wonderful care given to our dear pet by both Oathall Veterinary Group during the last few days and her final day on 24 September 2024.Thank you for a wonderful service

Stephen answered my initial email out-of-hours which was very much appreciated. I'd just come back from the vet, I knew I wouldn't be able to hold a conversation without crying, so emailed Chestnut Lodge to find out some initial queries we had. Everything was answered quickly in a helpful and caring manner.

We collected our lovely Brucie from the vet the next morning and took him to Chestnut Lodge that afternoon. As soon as we arrived we knew we'd made the right choice. Everything was explained, the whole process, obviously heartbreaking, was taken care of with utmost care and understanding. We had the choice whether to say our final goodbye before leaving him for his service.

It only took 3 days before we received Brucie's ashes back in our choice of engraved black cat urn. Again, with all the care and attention to detail. We're so pleased. Thank you! We won't hesitate to recommend Chestnut Lodge.

Thank you so much for looking after my beautiful Pili, your help, kindness & compassion couldn’t have been better. I am so grateful for your wonderful service. My beloved Pili passed away peacefully in April, but I haven’t been able to write anything until now. She was 16 1/2 years young & my baby, she was my emotional support dog. I loved her for her whole life (I still do) & I shall miss her for the rest of mine. Rest well my sweet girl, my beloved angel xxx 💗

I would like to thank Chestnut Lodge they were so caring when we had to say goodbye to our beautiful dog Poppy she was the centre of our world and it was a very emotional time but Chestnut Lodge made things a little easier everything was carried out efficiently quickly and with sensitivity thank you once again.

We had our dog Alfie put to sleep and chestnut lodge kept us informed about when he was back at the vets after being cremated, he was put in a beautifal dark wood box and their emails were so kind. Thank you chestnut lodge

We went on our last journey with our beloved dog Bert. He was handled with such love and care and we knew we had made the right decision by bringing him to Chesnut lodge.
He had an individual cremation and they rang us 30min before so we could be thinking of him. We laid a posy in the river where he loved to swim. When we collected him it was very peaceful and done with compassion 🙏
He was presented so beautifully the attention to detail was so lovely from the flower in the urn to the fur cuttings and cremation certificate in lovely cards. His paw print is perfect just struggling at the moment to look at it😢
I've had a ring made with his ashes and fur and the jeweller said she'd never seen human or pet remains so beautifully presented.

This service has really helped to come to terms with the loss of my beloved Rene’.
He was very special to me as he was my ‘emotional support’ dog. He was trained to jump on my lap for a cuddle if my mood was low.
The idea of individual cremation and retaining his ashes has helped my grieving process. A wonderful service.

Can i just say again, thank you the Chestnut Lodge for the cremation of my beautiful baby Obi.
It’s been a year since I brought him to you and I still will never forget how amazing your staff were in handling him and also how supportive you were towards me and my family.
He is resting peacefully on his shelf along with his pawprint and fur trimmings.
He now also has a younger brother Lando who he is watching over always as well as me during this sad anniversary.
Your staff deserve the world and more for their incredibly invaluable job 🙂
